Information about the design of our web pages

Our goal is to design pages that follow common standards and therefore work in almost any browser. You can use our pages without being able to read graphics or frames. The amount of data to be transmitted for each page is very low. In the table following we have listed the main criteria and explain it a bit if you are further interested in a specific topic.

XHTML version 1.0 Our pages follow the markup language XHTML version 1.0 of the WWW consortium. If you'd like to check this page for it's conformity just click here or on the XHTML logo left. We have followed the standard as strict as possible but had to encounter some limitations in the frame definition in order to get the layout we wanted using our test browsers.
Valid CSS Our pages are formatted using a Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) Level 1. Therefore we don't need javascript and co to get "living pages". If you want to know how the style sheets are defined just click here or on the CSS logo on the left. On the new page scroll down to get the core of our style sheet.
P3P Our pages follow strict privacy rules (no personal login necessary except for inquiries and some downloads; no data analysis except for the web servers log files). These are officially quoted according to the P3P standard. You can test run our definition by clicking here. With the internet explorer 6 and above you have the possibility to watch our definition in plain language (please refer to the online manual of this program).
Opera, the best internet experience Test browser: As discussed before we want our pages to work in any browser. We test run our pages frequently with most recent versions of the following browsers: Opera, Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Regrettably we can't test on a Mac. Our favourite browser (personally speaking) is Opera, becuase it's a big program packed into a small installation package that runs fast and strictly follows the standards.
Top Business Site A German website with yellow pages (EBB) has even given us an award for the layout and the contents of our pages (that was in 2001 when our pages still had their "old" layout).
RSACi Standard We have rated our pages according to the standards of the Internet Content Rating Association . We have done so because we think that our pages are completetly of no danger to visitors of any age (not that they are espacially designed to meet the demands of kids), but we want to prevent being filtered by third party products.
